August 7th, 2008

I recently read an article by Dereck Gehl that answers a question I get asked almost daily:

He says it better than I ever can –

Here is a brief excerpt from his article:

“… because you’re SEVEN TIMES more likely to get a visitor through the organic (free) search engines than through a pay-per-click ad!

You can’t afford NOT to spend as much time as possible improving your site’s overall search engine performance.

With that in mind, here are my TOP THREE recommendations for improving your free traffic using the search engines…”

The more things change, the more they remain the same…..

July 18th, 2008

OVER 2.5 YEARS AGO:

I recently discovered an article written by Steve Pavlina over 2.5 years ago, thats an eternity in the internet world, talking about how to build a high-traffic website or blog that starts with the following quote…..

“Since posting my 2005 traffic figures recently, I’ve received many questions about how I was able to start this web site from scratch and build its traffic to over 700,000 visitors per month (Jan 2006 projection) in about 15 months — without spending any money on marketing or promotion.  Building a high-traffic web site was my intention from the very beginning, so I don’t think this result was accidental. My traffic-building strategy isn’t based on tricks or techniques that will go out of style.”  …..Steve Pavlina, Jan 24, 2006

He went on to outline ten (10) suggestions for building a high-traffic website

- Create valuable, original, timeless content (3)

- Treat visitors like humans, write for them, be your real self, help people first (4)

- Know your [WHY], what your truth is, and live with consequences (2)

- Keep money in proper place (1)

To summarize, I believe he said: Be true to yourself, provide real value, help others through your writings, and by understanding your own uniquenes, the rest will follow.
OVER 2.5 DAYS AGO

I also suffered through the onslaught of hype online recently promoting the latest launch of website traffic building products or courses such as Traffic Secrets 2.0, and Traffic Manifesto 2.0 - both of which are excellent products by the way…..both focus on how to get more and better traffic to your website, through regular quality content distribution, as well as covering all the latest ‘technological” methods using Web 2.0 social sites, and more.

They each have their own marketing strategy, and distinctive price points, $397, and $37 respectively, and both are selling extremely well according to the buzz online…

OVER 2.5 MINUTES AGO

I remembered, we can all benefit from studying and applying what other successful people teach, but we must not lose sight of our own very real [WHY]….

Do you remember what your [WHY] is?

Read the rest of Steve’s article and maybe you will realize [WHY] that  [WHY] is so critical to your own personal development and success…….

The more things change, the more they remain the same…..

Boost Web Site Profits - How Increasing Web Site Traffic Will Boost Your Website Profits

July 14th, 2008

Are you an internet marketer or online business owner that is tired of all the courses and e-books that claim they are the complete step x step solution to all your internet marketing or online business problems?

All you want is a simple answer to a specific problem, such as planning your next weeks activity list so you can start increasing website traffic faster for example.

What if you discovered that product offerings that have been “unbundled” into services or “special reports” that were actually needed always proved to be more cost effective for you , rather than blindly buying into what the industry experts had packaged together to market to us as a course or e-book product

Would you be interested in these types of “niche solution type services”, sometimes called “special reports” that specifically address your individual internet marketing problems..

One of the things that the majority of internet marketers, and online business owners keep telling me they find most challenging about getting traffic to their website is actually creating a plan to do so, and sticking with it on a weekly basis….

If so, and you are one of those online business owners …..

Here are the 5 pieces you must address in your written plan to get more quality web site traffic

1) What do you want?

2) What do you have?

3) What do you need?

4) Where are you going to get it?

5) What will you do with it?

What do you think somebody who specializes in this “unbundling” concept actually could offer that can help you boost your web site profits this weekend……

Can one of these “special reports” really work for you within 2-3 hours this weekend?

You don’t need to wait for any emails, you will get immediate access…..

Go on, try it (if you don’t, you won’t be able to read the rest of the story….)

Is Internet Marketing Stuff Overloading Your Senses and Draining Your Profits?

June 28th, 2008

There is so much stuff bombarding our email inbox every day we often lose “perspective” to what our “lists”are seeing from us….Do they really need another email from us  as we “piggy back” somebody elses product launch….

After all the “program owners” are  just “hiring” as many affiliates as possible to advertize, and market their product for them for lets say 50-75% of the sale..and the affiliate is footing the big expenses….  and they all create massive emailings to all their lists………hence a another wave of emails pushing the same $97, $197, $997, $4997 product

Here is a comment I got in email yesterday from Jack, after he realized he had unsubscribed from one of my lists by mistake…

 Comments:
“I think i just made a mistake but am frustrated by too
much email. It was automatic and is getting more common
with me when I see anything that asks me for money.”….Jack McFarley

A blunt reminder, about whats going on currently in internet marketing…and by the way it was the first email I had sent that list in 3 weeks……so there must be some balance out there……but nevertheless, my list suffered from being bombarded by others offers……….the list member is just like us………..they have a DELETE button too…

So how do you differentiate yourself from the herds of “experts” flooding the inboxes of the world….

I specialize in “unbundling” those large all encompassing fits all sizes product offerings into small bite sized reports about very specific services that are actually needed by people out there trying to solve a specific problem or fill a specific users desire in their special are of interest.

I actually learned in my previous life that “small specific services” always prove to be more cost effective than what the industry experts package together to market to us as the all encompassing magic potion for all our wants…

Take 2-3 hours  and discover “the top 5 ways to boost your web site profits this weekend”  is the jist of  one of these small digestable reports… Take a look and see if it fits the description

So much for my rambling…let me know what you think…..vote with your comments or delete!!

Have a great weekend!!
